The Chief Information Officer will serve in a leadership capacity, as a key executive strategist in shaping the future of this organization and the industry, and as the principal information technology leader for the company. The Chief Information Officer will be expected to hit the ground running as a “thought” leader and will need to quickly establish credibility and strong working relationships with all members of the senior management team. He or she will also be responsible for ensuring that the company optimizes the effectiveness of its current and future investments in information technology (IT).
The Chief Information Officer will focus on improving the quality, functionality, and deliverability of the company’s technology infrastructure. He or she will be tasked with reducing both hard dollar and lost-opportunity costs associated with software and hardware systems and the IT user community across the company’s business units. The successful candidate must recognize that he or she has a responsibility to serve the company’s businesses by developing a corporate-wide IT strategy that enables the company to enhance its ability to provide customer value, while improving its bottom-line profitability.
