Our Client is a global, multi-billion dollar commodities management firm and is seeking a senior legal executive to join its team as General Counsel. The firm engages in the merchandising, distributing, and trading of agricultural and energy commodities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
This executive will be responsible for overseeing all legal and corporate governance matters as well as build a best-in-class legal function.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must possess the following:
10+ years experience in business with at least two years in a Business Development role, having developed a new business roadmap resulting in significant growth.
Must be a creative thinker that has successfully launched new business initiatives (new products, markets, channels, joint ventures, or licensing).
Demonstrated success leading strategic initiatives, resulting in new growth of $100 million in annual revenue from new products, markets, channels, joint ventures, or licensing.
Proven experience in developing analytical frameworks to identify ideas, assess opportunities, define alternative paths, estimate operational and brand risks, and probability of success.
Experience working closely with or within Marketing, Sales, R&D, and Finance functions to achieve optimal returns.
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and work well with ambiguity.
Ability to influence multi-functional senior level executives throughout the organization.
EDUCATION
A bachelors degree is required; an MBA is strongly preferred.
