TITLE
Director, Information Technology and Business Integration - Customer Service Business Unit

COMPANY
An independent power producer engaged in the business of owning, leasing, operating and selling energy and capacity from electric power generation facilities.
RELATIONSHIP
This position has a dual reporting relationship to the Vice President, Information Technology and Business Integration and to the Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director, IT and Business Integration - Customer Service Business Unit will serve as a strategic thought partner and have ownership of the entire portfolio of IT products and services for the SCE Customer Service Business Unit (CSBU). He/She will be responsible for creating and implementing the business unit's strategic and operating plan and aligning strategic IT plans with strategic business unit needs. He/she will also be responsible for day to day management of the IT portion of the SmartConnect project. This business unit has an operations and maintenance budget of $100 million, a capital budget of $75 million and this position will have a total of 345 matrix-reports and five direct reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must have the following:
- At least five to eight years experience in an executive or senior IT leadership role leading and implementing multiple large-scale technology systems supporting a complex and rapidly changing business.
- Ability to visualize the pragmatic potential of advanced systems, convert vision to strategic plans, and influence others to pursue this vision.
- Experience managing the IT organization's most strategic initiatives.
- Prior experience managing a direct or matrixed team of at least 125 resources, a capital budget of at least $50 million and an operational budget of at least $20 million.
- Proven track record of delivering on time and on budget while meeting the needs of the business.
- At least eight years of experience in a technical arena with experience in application development.
- Has significant experience as a member of the IT leadership team with a proven ability to influence colleagues and stakeholders across various levels within the organization. Viewed as a highly credible, trusted advisor by the business.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively in a matrixed environment and serve as a thought partner to internal peers in the organization.
- Significant experience operating at senior customer/client executive levels both internally and externally.
- Successful track record in providing IT leadership for large, complex, or enterprise level projects/programs with substantial systems integration components.
- Experience managing multiple vendors/partners service contacts for third party software and IT resources for both projects and legacy application maintenance.
- Experience developing, prioritizing, and implementing strategic business plans with significant organizational impact.
- Expert knowledge and experience with budget management techniques, including identification of financial trends, forecasting, and interpretation of complex budget data.
- Prior experience working in the utilities industry is preferred.
EDUCATION
An undergraduate degree in an applicable professional, business, or technical discipline is required. Master's degree in related field or MBA preferred.
COMPENSATION
The selected candidate will receive an attractive compensation package, which will be commensurate with experience, and will include a base salary, annual cash bonus, and long-term incentives.
