PLACES KEY EXECUTIVES AT WAMU |

| LOS ANGELES, Calif. –
March 20, 2007 – Morgan Samuels Company,
a leading national management consulting firm

six executive placements at Washington Mutual.

| The company appointed Steve
Yaninek as first vice president and senior manager,
direct marketing home loans. Yaninek had most
recently been the vice president and acquisition
manager, direct mail marketing at Wells Fargo
Consumer Credit Group. Previous to that, Yaninek
was the vice president and marketing program manager
at Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Group. |

| WaMu also appointed David Pollino
as first vice president and senior manager of
online risk strategy. Pollino had most recently
been the director of information security, monitoring,
and investigations at Charles Schwab & Company,
Incorporated. Previous to that, Pollino was the
managing security architect at @stake, Incorporated.
Pollino received his Associate of Applied Science,
Computer and Technology from Heald Institute of
Technology in San Francisco, California. |

| Also appointed was Michelle
Turner Youngquist as division finance officer,
eEnterprise operations. Youngquist had most recently
been the director of finance, global strategy,
and integration at Honeywell International, Incorporated.
Previous to that, Youngquist was the director
of finance, surface systems products at Honeywell
International, Incorporated. Youngquist received
her MBA from Arizona State University in Phoenix,
Arizona, and her BS in Accounting from University
of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. |

Paul Stephen was named as
group manager and first vice president of financial
accounting at Washington Mutual. Stephen had
most recently been the director of financial
reporting at residential capital corporation.
Previous to that, Stephen was the assistant
controller at GMAC Bank. Stephen received his
BBA in Accounting from University of Notre Dame
in Notre Dame, Indiana. |

| Laurel Tyler was named
as first vice president and senior regional manager
of Austin, Texas at WaMu. Tyler had most recently
been the senior vice president, district retail
executive at Compass Bank. Previous to that, Tyler
was the region retail marketing manager at Compass
Bank. |

| Joseph Cimini was named
as senior manager of store design and planning,
retail at Washington Mutual. Cimini had most recently
been a retail design, management, marketing, and
branding consultant. Previous to that, Cimini
was the vice president of visual merchandising
at Ann Taylor. Cimini received his BFA in Graphic
Design and Exhibition Design from Pratt Institute
in Brooklyn, New York. |
