MORGAN SAMUELS COMPANY PLACES KEY EXECUTIVES AT WAMU

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – May 21, 2008 – Morgan Samuels Company, a leading national management consulting firm specializing in executive recruitment, today announced two executive placements at WaMu. WaMu is one of the nation's leading consumer and small business banks.

The company has named Barry M. Koch as senior compliance officer, retail. Koch had most recently been the global head, anti-money laundering at American Express. Previous to that, Koch was the senior vice president, risk management and investigations at Charles Schwab & Company. Koch received his JD in Law from New York University in New York, New York and his BA in English from University of Albany in New York.

Peter Hemme was named as senior vice president, retail real estate development. Hemme had most recently been the head coach of development at YUM! Brands. Previous to that, Hemme was a senior director of remodeling at YUM! Brands. Hemme received his MBA at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland and his BS in Construction from University of Cincinnati in Ohio.
